Adviser Guidelines
Criteria for assessing organisations suitability for accessing Big Ideas
- Advisers must be satisfied that the organisation has embraced the benefits of a business like and traded income approach. Big Ideas can work with organisations that may have embraced the approach but need support on a more day-to-day basis to implement this culture through their actions.
- The organisation has developed a business plan/outline plan demonstrating how it intends to operate as a financially sustainable social enterprise within a defined period. The organisation must have this in place, in some form, even if further development is required. Big Ideas can work with the organisation in further development of business plans that lead to clear plans of work.
- Has the organisation clearly defined social, financial and environmental objectives? The organisations business plan may not have these well defined so Big Ideas can work with organisations on developing these and apply them to a timescale
- Has the organisation explicitly defined its values base? Big Ideas can work with organisations and their teams to develop their values and how to assess performance against the value base.
- Does the organisation need a robust set of operating procedures in place to support the delivery of the business plan? Due to time constraints Big Ideas can develop a plan of action for establishing operating procedures across the organisations trading activities.
- Would the organisation benefit from input regarding a specific business challenge e.g team development, new trading activities, growth activities or a key project?
If you are working with organisations that you feel fit the criteria please contact Andy Peers on 01706 845163 or andy.peers@thespringboard.co.uk
Once eligibility and suitability has been established, Andy Peers and the adviser should co-ordinate an appropriate introduction to Andy, and work together to ensure that any ongoing support through Big Ideas complements that of the adviser.
