It gives me great pleasure to invite you to join us on the evening of 3rd April at the Royal Armouries, Leeds, to attend an exhibition and showcase event specially commissioned by Recycling Action Yorkshire.
‘Your Future Our Plans’ will celebrate the region’s recycling sector and RAY’s contribution to this developing success story. The evening will be an opportunity to network with the region’s growing recycling and waste management business sector and meet some of the businesses that are leading the way in helping Yorkshire & Humber secure a sustainable future. An extensive range of commercially available recycled content products will also be on display, which we hope will inspire you or your organisation to switch to buying more products which are made from recycled materials.
The event will focus on the major contribution these businesses are making to increase recycling and tackling climate change in our region as well as showing the levels of GVA, investment and job creation which result alongside reduced green house gas emissions. RAY is an essential part of this success, established in late 2005 by Yorkshire Forward, the Regional Development Agency to stimulate the demand for recycled materials in the region. RAY’s team of project managers will have been active in the region for two years and we will highlight a range of the projects we have been supporting. RAY’s role is to develop new markets for recycled products, support new technologies and businesses, and encourage a step-change in the way businesses and public sector organisations think and act on resources.
By transforming waste into a valued resource, we help to boost every aspect of the recycling chain, from collection and reprocessing to manufacturing and procurement. RAY’s programme is a vital part of Yorkshire Forward’s wider environmental strategy, which aims to make the region leaner, greener and more prosperous.
